The Southern Illinois Music Festival is May 25-June 11 and it offers over 20 classical music concert events throughout the region from Carbondale to Cairo.
Singers and instrumentalists from across the US and Europe converge to perform orchestral and chamber music, opera, jazz and educational programs, along with select SIU faculty and students. Many of the events will even be offered for free. You can see the full schedule of events at www.sifest.com

In Benton, The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Rend Lake has partnered with a local certified yoga instructor to offer free children’s yoga classes for children 5-12 years old on Sundays and Adult yoga on Thursdays. Classes will be at the Rend Lake Visitor for 6 weeks and each session will require prior registration. For further information, contact the Rend Lake Project Office & Visitor Center at 618-724-2493. Brown Bag Concerts: Every Wednesday at Noon at the Carbondale Town Square Pavilion. You can also find the schedule of performers and a live stream of each performance on Carbondale Main Street’s Facebook page.
