This week in labor history in 1920 – The first Labor bank opens in Washington, D.C., launched by officers of the Machinists. The Locomotive Engineers opened a bank in Cleveland later that year.
Locally, Liuna Local 773 is hosting a Take Kids Fishing Day at Herrin Park this Saturday from 9am to 1pm. The first 200 kids to register will receive a free fishing pole to keep, plus kids and adults will enjoy a free lunch.
