In Benton, The National Kidney Foundation of Illinois is teaming up with Franklin Hospital to provide a free kidney and health screening on Monday, September 18, 2023 for all community members. The screening will be held at Franklin Hospital from 12:00pm-4:00pm, and anyone interested in getting screened for kidney disease, high blood pressure or diabetes is encouraged to attend. There is no cost to be screened, and appointments are not necessary.

The Centralia Balloon Fest is August 18 through 20th at Centralia’s Foundation Park. Over 35 Hot air balloons will spend the weekend on display, having races, offering tethered balloon rides and offering a beautiful Balloon Glow to attendees. There will be vendors, contests, activities and live entertainment throughout the weekend. See more at www.centraliaballoonfestival.com

In Olney, The White Squirrel Bluegrass Festival is on Saturday, September 9th from Noon to 8pm at The Olney City Park Bandshell. Gary Brewer and the Kentucky Ramblers headline the event following a full day of Bluegrass Music.
