In Carbondale, The SIU School of Theater and Dance will host auditions for two upcoming shows. Auditions are open to students as well as community members who are interested in a role in Ride The Cyclone the Musical and Wedding Band: A Love-Hate Story in Black and White. Auditions are tomorrow at Mcleod Auditorium from 6:30 to 10pm with callbacks planned for this Friday night.

In Makanda, The Natural Beekeeping for Beginners Program at Giant City State Park is Sat., August 26th from 6-8 pm. Discover the basics of backyard beekeeping during with local bee enthusiasts Angie and Colin Kuehl as they discuss getting started with beekeeping. The benefits of beekeeping extend beyond pollination and honey! This program is free and open to the public, but registration is required. Please call 618-457-4836 to register. Giant City State Park is administered by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.

The “Off the Rails” Concert Series returns to downtown Carbondale this weekend.
The City of Carbondale and Carbondale Main Street are teaming up to host free outdoor concerts featuring local entertainers at the Washington Street venue. The Washington Street Concert Venue is at the corner of S. Washington Street and E. Main Street. See the Copyrights and Laura Jane Grace from 7 to 10pm.
