Southern Illinois Learning in Retirement will offer classes in radio history, literature, and politics beginning the week of September 11. Walter Metz will teach "The Golden Age of Narrative American Network Radio, 1920s‐1950s”; Beth Lordan will teach “Classic Short Stories”; and John Jackson will teach “Politics and the Law.” SILIR is open to anyone 50 or older. In Carterville, the Warriors of Hope Suicide Awareness & Prevention Walk is a ½ mile walk will raise funds to help increase public awareness about suicide and the need for prevention efforts. Saturday, September 16th at 2PM at Cannon Park.
