In Carbondale, the Oakland Nature Preserve Monthly Volunteer Workday is
October 21st from 9 to noon. Help prepare for the annual Pumpkin Glow fundraiser. The largely popular nighttime jack-o-lantern hike takes a lot of work any help would be appreciated. Snacks and water will be provided. Long sleeves, pants and sturdy closed-toe shoes are recommended for working within the woodland. Volunteer workdays are family-friendly and open to everyone, no special skills are necessary. RSVPs are appreciated. Please see today’s almanac for contact information. In Marion, area high schoolers have the opportunity to connect with local professionals, employers, and companies at the 2023 Career Fair at The Pavilion on October 25th from 9am to 2pm. Area employers who are currently hiring are also invited to take part in the event. Contact the Regional Office of Education #21 for more information.
