This week in labor history, in 1913, The Ford Motor Co. introduces the continuous moving assembly line which can produce a complete car every two-and-a-half minutes.

A Holiday Toy Drive for kids in Southern Illinois is underway with the help of Local 773 and the Labor Rising volunteer committee. They ask that you drop off your new, unwrapped toys at the 5102 Ed Smith Way in Marion during regular business hours. Donations are being accepted now through December 15th. And, there is even a little extra incentive for those who donate. You can find the extra details on the Local 773 Facebook page.

Construction workers are needed in many industries. If you or someone you know is interested in a career as a construction craft laborer with all the advantages of the Laborers’ Union, look for details on the website, www.local773.com

And as a reminder, Applications for apprenticeships are accepted online the first Tuesday of each month.
