In Carbondale, Media Day returns to SIU on February 24th in the Communications Building. The National Association of Black Journalists, SIU Chapter and the Black Togetherness Organization host the event for students to learn more about a career in journalism. Professional journalists, including WSIU's Jeff Williams, will offer hands on workshops, panel discussions and more. Sign up for free by February 20th and find more details in today’s almanac.

 In Olney, Illinois Eastern Community Colleges will host a series of FAFSA Nights to support students and families navigate changes in the new FAFSA form. The next event is tomorrow at Olney Central College from 4 to 7 p.m. in Wattleworth Hall Room 205.

The Annual Love at the Glove Art Show event returns to the Surplus Gallery on Friday, February 16th from 6-9 pm. Local Artists and SIU Students will display their art pieces to attendees. There will be food, drinks, and an Open Mic. Along with tons of art, there will also be live drag performing adaptations from SIU professor Rafael Frumkin's Book.
