Registration is now underway for this fall’s Camp BETA, a free overnight camp for youth with type 1 diabetes. The camp is set for September 7 and 8 at Touch of Nature Outdoor Education Center in Carbondale. (The camp helps connect young people in the southern 16 counties find support and meet others like themselves. Springfield Area Arts Council and Downtown Springfield Inc. announce a special one-night-only event, bringing the timeless magic of Shakespeare to Enos Park. On July 20, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM, the park will transform into a stage for the acclaimed Starling Shakespeare Company who will perform the beloved comedy Twelfth Night with a contemporary twist.
