In Anna, Breaking Free: The Musical takes place on September 20th and 21st at 7 PM at the Anna Arts Center and on Sunday, September 22nd at 2PM. The musical is about learning to be yourself. In Carterville, the Anne West Lindsay Library hosts a True Crime Book Club on Wednesday's from 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM for teens and adults. Read and discuss real-life crime stories. Learn more at www.awlindsey.com.
The Olney Arts Council is hosting its 50th Annual Fall Festival. The event brings together dozens of artisans, concession sellers, and musicians. There will be firetruck rides for kids and you can view the art show that will be going on in the community building. And in Carbondale, save the date for the annual Touch of Nature Buffalo Tro. The event returns November 22nd a Touch of Nature Outdoor Education Center. Those attending the Tro can expect a fun evening of good food, local beer and wine, and a chance to support Touch of Nature. The meal features stakes grilled over a hardwood fire with baked potato, salad, rolls, and desert. More information available here.
