In Carbondale, The American Red Cross and Southern Illinois University are partnering together for the 15th year, hosting the Homecoming Blood Drive. This event will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 2 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the SIU Student Center. This blood drive is one of the largest single-day blood drives in Carbondale and hopes to collect over 130 lifesaving blood donations.

Fall Family Vacation Day. The Positive Youth Development Coalition invites families to join them for a free family vacation day at Mileur Orchard. There will be music, donuts and slushies, crafts, a costume parade, and more! Come enjoy a fun fall Saturday morning with your family. The orchard is located at 172 Mileur Orchard Rd, Murphysboro, IL 62966. Oct 12 10 to Noon.

A Christmas Murder at Herrin City Library
Join us Friday, October 18, 2024, at 2:00 pm, as Herrin History Room Librarian, Lisa Carnaghi, presents A Christmas Murder – a slideshow presentation focusing on the true story of a Herrin area murder committed in the early hours of December 25, 1959. This event is free and open to the public and presented by the Herrin History Room.
