The workshop will include an opportunity to practice negotiating.

SIU is holding a series of events and workshops for Women's History Month. Mary Sue Love, with SIU Edwardsville, will be holding a workshop on how to negotiate.

Love said the way women are raised can hinder them when it comes to negotiating jobs and salaries, because they are not taught the skills they need in the same way men are.

"So what we find is, when women don't ask, which is a classic book now by Linda Babcock, what we find is when we don't ask, we don't get," she said.

Love said the workshop will include a discussion about negotiation as a strategy to resolve conflict as well as opportunities for participants to practice their negotiating skills.

The workshop will be held on March 16th at 6 pm over Zoom. You can find more information on this and other events and sign up online.
