An administrator at SIU-Carbondale has accepted a job at a school on the west coast.

In a written notice on Wednesday, SIU-C Chancellor Austin Lane announced provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs Meera Komarraju will be taking on the same role at California State University-Northridge in January.

Komarraju has been a member of the SIU faculty since 1991, serving first as an non-tenure track instructor in psychology and then progressing to a tenure-track position and a number of administrative roles, including director of the undergraduate psychology program, chair of the Department of Psychology, associate dean for student and curricular affairs for the College of Liberal Arts and then dean of the college.

She took on the role of provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs in 2018.
