For the first time since Saluki Stadium was built in 2010, the facility will host a FCS playoff game.

SIU will host Nicholls this Saturday at 2 p.m. in a first-round postseason match-up.

This will be the third playoff appearance in the last four years for the Dawgs, who were an at-large selection to the 24-team FCS Playoffs and one of six schools taken from the Missouri Valley Football Conference.

Hero Sports has released regular season attendance numbers for FCS football teams.

SIU ranked 46th out of 128 teams with an average attendance of just over 7,500 per game, which is right at 50% of capacity.

Idaho, who will host the winner of the Nicholls-SIU game on December 2, is 16th overall, with an average attendance of just under 12,000, or 73% of capacity.

Jackson State is number one at a little more than 30,000 per game.
