The SIU football team is one of 16 teams remaining in the FCS playoffs after Saturday's decisive 35-0 win over Nicholls at Saluki Stadium.

The Dawgs will hit the road for their second round match-up at the University of Idaho.

The 4th seeded Vandals play in the 16-thousand seat Kibbie Dome.

Saluki quarterback Nic Baker says hopefully his experience playing in domes against teams such as North Dakota State, South Dakota and Northern Iowa will help.

"It's something to look back on. I've had experiences and stuff like that. But, if you want to do something special in the postseason, you have to go play somewhere that's tough and beat somebody that's good."

Idaho is 8-3 on the season and finished second in the Big Sky Conference.

The game Saturday kicks off at 9 p.m. Central time and will be televised nationally on ESPN 2.

SIU had six players named to the All-Missouri Valley Football Conference team Monday, including first-team safety PJ Jules and second-team linebacker Branson Combs.

Four more players were named honorable mention — defensive tackle Kam Bowdry, cornerback Mark Davis Jr., wide receiver Vinson Davis III and cornerback DJ Johnson.

Jules finished fourth in the voting for MVFC Defensive Player of the Year.
