SIU to host Holiday Arts and Crafts Sale Dec. 5-7

If you’re looking for special gifts for friends, family or yourself this holiday season, you won’t want to miss the 46th annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Sale in the Southern Illinois University Carbondale Student Center Dec. 5-7.

The sale takes place in the first floor Art Gallery and Renaissance Room and runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 5 and 6 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 7. Everyone is welcome, and there is no cost to attend.

Numerous, diverse vendors participating

The sale offers a unique opportunity to shop for arts, crafts and other items created or made locally. More than 80 artisans and craftspeople will be offering items of all kinds. Handmade works in an eclectic mix of media include clay, fibers, drawing, glass, painting, woodworking, jewelry, candles and home and holiday décor. Also featured will be plants and seeds, soaps, essential oils and body care, crystals and much more.

A variety of SIU registered student organizations and other student groups will also participate, including SIU Ceramics, Southern Illinois Metalsmiths Society (SIMS) and SIU Horticulture Club.
