An electric and hybrid car show will be held next month in downtown Carbondale. The purpose of the car show is to allow the public to see a variety of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles in one place.
The vehicles will be available for viewing up close but not for test driving. However, event visitors can sign up for test drives later at dealerships. Local car dealers and individual owners support the show. It will include bicycles, motorcycles, and a 1955 Porsche Spyder converted to an electric vehicle.
There will be posters and handout sheets highlighting information like applying for the Illinois rebate, the Federal Tax Credit, lists of other electric vehicles, frequently asked questions, and more. The Electric and Plug-In Car Show will be held Saturday, April 13, from 3 pm until 5 pm in the parking lot of the First Christian Church of Carbondale, across from City Hall.
