The Carbondale Branch NAACP invites community members to the "At The Table" Dinner and Dialogue series. The NAACP and the City of Carbondale celebrate the 70th anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education, a landmark decision of the US Supreme Court that established racial segregation in schools as unconstitutional.
The "At the Table" Dinner and Dialogue Series will bring up topics ranging from culture, racism, and history through facilitated conversations. The Dinner and Dialogue Series is for community members from diverse backgrounds to have important discussions over a meal.
The Carbondale Branch of NAACP will also present a reenactment at the start of the evening. Following the reenactment, attendees will discuss the impact of Brown V. Board of Education within educational systems.
The Dinner and Dialogue takes place on Tuesday, May 21 at 5:30 pm at the Carbondale Civic Center. The event is free and open to the public. To register, visit https://form.jotform.com/241216281191146
