Applications for the Healing Illinois Grant are now being accepted.
Spokesperson Sonya Lewis says the grant, which is part a racial healing initiative funded by the Illinois Department of Human services, has applications reviewed on a rolling basis.
"The next cutoff is November 10 and those grantees will be notified on the 20th of November. Then, the last group it will be applications received by December 1and then those will be reviewed and those grantees will be notified by December 11."
In order to be eligible, applicants must be 501-C-3 nonprofit organizations in good standing with the Illinois Secretary of State, or part of a school or other local governmental agency.
