Governor JB Pritzker will embark on a trade mission to Japan with business, education, and government leaders from around the state. The delegation will meet with partners in Tokyo to discuss strengthening the long history of business collaboration between the state and Japan.
The Governor and the delegates will discuss economic growth opportunities for Illinois, including clean energy, manufacturing, life sciences, quantum, and other industries. He said, "...I couldn't be more excited to meet with local and international leaders in Japan- highlighting our state's many accomplishments and ambitious goals across sectors like education, clean energy, manufacturing, and business."
Illinois and Japan have a long history of economic cooperation. Illinois is the largest exporting state in the Midwest, totaling over $2.59 billion to Japan alone in 2023.
