The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the St Louis District continues to pay attention to water levels as precipitation increases in the Bi-State area. The district's water control operations monitor lake and river levels daily.

Earlier this spring, the St Louis District's emergency management office conducted flood fight preparation workshops in several communities throughout the area. Residents should take precautions near recreation areas, beaches, and campgrounds, as high water levels could cause minor flooding.

Boaters should be vigilant of changing water levels, as increased flows can affect river currents and make it difficult to maneuver. They should have caution and wear life jackets.

Some areas will be closed or experience delayed openings due to high-level areas, including Mark Twain Lake near Monroe City and the Rivers Project Office near West Alton. Residents should not drive through flooded areas. Local river and lake levels can be found at https://www.lrd.usace.army.mil/Rivers-and-Reservoirs/
