The Egyptian Electric Cooperative Association (EECA) is inviting high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors to apply for its annual Youth Day to Springfield and Youth Tour to Washington, D.C. This program gives students a chance to visit historical sites, meet lawmakers, and learn about government in action.
Students must attend a high school within EECA’s service area or be a consumer-member of the cooperative. Eligible schools include Carbondale, Murphysboro, Sparta, Chester, DuQuoin, and several others.
Youth Day will take place on March 5, 2025, in Springfield, while the Youth Tour to Washington, D.C., will run from June 16-23, 2025. Applications, which include an essay and summaries of activities, are due by February 10, 2025.
