A contractor helping on the construction of a new school building in western Kentucky is accused of stealing around 18-thousand dollars in new copper wiring.
The McCracken County Sheriff's Department say the theft occurred back in May at the site of the new Lone Oak Middle School.
40-year-old Dustin Kincer of Mayfield, Kentucky is charged with 3rd degree burglary and theft of over 10-thousand dollars.
Detectives believe Kincer used a golf cart from Rolling Hills Country Club to haul the wire to another location.
They say security camera footage from the golf course showed a suspect and a cell phone in the golf cart.
Search warrants for the cell phone helped detectives determine Kincer was the man in the security footage. They also learned he had been selling copper wire in Tennessee.
Detectives served Kincer with an arrest warrant on September 29.
