Everyone needs a little help now and then, and SIU’s Thanks “GivingBack” food drive offers the opportunity to help Salukis in need this holiday season.

Jessica Yellin, a former CNN chief White House correspondent with nearly three decades of journalism experience, will join SIU’s Simon Institute on Thursday, Nov. 13.

Empty Bowls, an event where art meets hunger, compassion and advocacy, returns to the Neighborhood Co-op Grocery.

The SIU Symphony Orchestra and Youth Orchestra will present a free, public concert at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, in Shryock Auditorium.

“The Future of Higher Education in Illinois: Dollars, Demographics, and Technology” is from 5:30-7 p.m. in the SIU Student Center, Ballroom B.

The retreat will welcome young Black males from the Metro East to participate in events that foster personal development, civility, leadership, and civic engagement.

Braun will discuss her pioneering career and her new memoir next week during a presentation hosted by SIU Carbondale’s Paul Simon Public Policy Institute.

Football and tailgating, and a guest appearance by Danny Trejo are just a few of the fun activities in store for visitors at SIU’s Family Weekend Oct. 2-5.

SIU Carbondale will recognize LGBTQ+ History Month in October with a number of special events and activities under the theme, “History Will Repeat. We Won’t Retreat.”
