Artspace 304 is opening a new exhibition that combines unique audio aspects of the environment of southern Illinois.

Artist Nick Ginsburg's work is entitled "Confluence Hymn: Listening to Little Egypt's Rivers." It explores the natural sounds and sights of the Ohio and Mississippi rivers. The opening reception runs from 5-7 p.m. Friday, October 13.

Ginsburg will also host a workshop on Saturday, October 14 from 2-4 p.m. at Artspace 304.

During the workshop, participants will help compose a sound map of Carbondale using recordings of interesting sounds around town. Attendants are encouraged to arrive at the workshop with audio files or phone voice memos.
