DuQuoin, IL – A DuQuoin hospital is joining the Southern Illinois Healthcare ranks.
Marshall Browning Hospital officials announced Tuesday that they've signed an affiliation agreement with SIH.
The Perry County facility will remain open, but experts say the partnership means patients who need more specialized care will have better access to it through SIH's other hospitals and clinics.
Marshall Browning will remain a separate entity, with its own Board of Directors, according to the announcement.
The 25-bed hospital joins Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, Herrin Hospital, Miners Memorial Health Center, the SIH Cancer Center and St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro in the partnership.
