SIU is hosting the From Sleepers to Sneakers event to brainstorm the best ways to support children in Carbondale.
Everyone is invited to attend by the Carbondale Community Cabinet for Children and Youth to share their ideas about how Carbondale can become a place to raise a family.
The brainstorming will focus on young children up to six years old.
The first 50 parents or caregivers to attend will receive a $10 grocery gift card.
There is a session on June 26th from 6 to 9 p.m. and on June 27th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Each event will be held at SIU Head Start on 1900 N. Illinois Avenue in Carbondale.
