4th Annual Carbondale Coldest Night of the Year Walk Fundraiser to Benefit the Carbondale Warming Center

4th Annual Carbondale Coldest Night of the Year Walk Fundraiser to Benefit the Carbondale Warming Center

Carbondale will be having its 4th Annual Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) on Saturday, February 28, 2026, to raise funds for the benefit of the Carbondale Warming Center. We will again be walking from the Carbondale Community High School cafeteria and then sharing a meal together afterwards. Participants can walk a 2k or a 5k route along the Carbondale “Super Block” or register to walk in their neighborhood to fundraise off-site. The walk starts at 5pm and then at 6pm we gather for a light meal in the cafeteria. This fundraiser is a family-friendly, festive event where we have a lot of fun, get some exercise, and reflect on what it is like to be unhoused in cold weather. This year’s CNOY theme is “across the country, close to home” to recognize that on February 28th there are over 70 locations across the United States and over 200 in Canada all walking to raise funds for their hurt, hungry, and homeless neighbors in their hometowns. For our 4th annual Carbondale walk this year, the Carbondale Warming Center is joining forces with Take Action Today to emphasize that our homeless neighbors not only need warm, safe shelter and food, but also other services like recovery, employment, housing, mental and physical health support to rebuild their lives. We have a big goal this year to have 50 teams walking to raise $100,000. This funding will allow the Carbondale Warming Center to return to 24/7 operations from its current four nights per week during our coldest winter months. The Carbondale CNOY 2026 website is live, and registration is open to participate and donate at https://cnoy.com/location/carbondale . So please join us to raise funds for the Carbondale Warming Center.
