At the Table and Beyond Two-Day Workshop

At the Table and Beyond Two-Day Workshop
The City of Carbondale, in partnership with the Sustained Dialogue Institute, will host a free two-day training workshop on May 23 and May 24 from 10:00am to 3:00pm at the Carbondale Civic Center.
“At the Table and Beyond: Facilitating Difficult Conversations Toward Action and Collaboration” is an 8-hour capacity-building interactive workshop that expands the themes of the Carbondale “At the Table” Dinner & Dialogues Series and embraces the goals of the IDHS Healing Illinois initiative. This interactive workshop by the Sustained Dialogue Institute, in partnership with the City of Carbondale, aims to equip attendees with enhanced facilitation skills, empowering them to lead constructive and inclusive dialogues about difficult topics, but most specifically dialogues about racial inequity. This workshop will provide tools and concepts to help maintain peace, balance of power, and make everyone feel a sense of belonging and inclusiveness regardless of skill level or background.
This certificate-granting workshop is free and open to the public. Seating is limited and registration is required. For more information, please contact Dianah McGreehan at dmcgreehan@carbondaleil.gov or call 618-457-3282. The “At the Table and Beyond” Workshop is supported by Healing Illinois.
