Marsha Griffin: Safeguard Yourself Against Scams
Marsha Griffin, Community Outreach Liaison with the Office of the Illinois Attorney General will be the presenter at the May 21 meeting of Southern Illinois Learning in Retirement (SILIR). Marsha will talk about Common Scams. She will identify and discuss government imposter scams, prizes and sweepstakes scams, grandparent scams, text scams, telephone best practices, ID theft and more.
Marsha Griffin has been with the Attorney General’s office for six years. Before working for the Attorney General, Marsha was an elementary school teacher for 13 years. She currently works in the Carbondale office and resides in Jonesboro.
The SILIR monthly meeting is free and open to the public. The meeting will be held at Epiphany Lutheran Church at 1501 W. Chautauqua in Carbondale. The presentation begins at 10:30 am.
A coffee and social hour begins at 9:30 am.
