An event this weekend in Marion is billed as a showcase for all that southern Illinois has to offer.
The Southern Illinois Made Expo allows businesses to show off their products, services and destinations produced in the region.
The initiative is a partnership between Senator Dale Fowler and area chambers of commerce.
Speaking earlier this month at the unveiling of the Veterans Memorial Overpass in Crainville, Fowler said all proceeds will go toward the Veterans Honor Flight of Southern Illinois.
"Last year, we raised just a little under $30,000. There's no question it's going to be more than that this year."
Fowler said working on the expo has made him aware of more veteran's organizations.
"Such as Vets for Vets, our homeless veterans, it's a critical issue that we have. Thankful for the Haven House that just opened that's able to give affordable housing to some of our veterans."
The expo is Saturday, July 27 and Sunday, July 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Pavilion in Marion.
