Southern Illinois Now received a 2024 Excellence in Economic Development Silver Award from the International Economic Development Council. SI Now is being awarded for its work in the Regional Partnership category.
SI Now serves as a regional economic development hub for the 17 southern counties of Illinois. The organization focuses on business growth and development, education, workforce development, and regional marketing.
SI Now Executive Director Deb Barnett says quote, "...The recognition of excellence in regional partnerships results from celebrating each other's wins, committing to collaboration over competition, and working to be a part of something bigger than our individual communities, counties, or businesses."
IEDC looks for economic development organizations, government entities, initiatives, and programs that demonstrate consistent and ideal performance. Recipients will lead the execution of projects that revitalize communities and shape and improve the practice of economic development.
