Illinois students earn awards, career path preparation at SkillsUSA Workforce Championships

Students from across Illinois recently competed in an event to showcase their skills in workforce career development.

The SkillsUSA Illinois 2024 Championships involved about 150 competitions.

Participating schools included SIU-Carbondale, Wabash Valley College, the Career Center of Southern Illinois, Carbondale Community High School, the Mt. Vernon High School Area Career Center and Sparta High School.

The students competed in manufacturing, electronics, computer-aided drafting, culinary arts, construction, hospitality, human services and much more.

SkillsUSA Illinois is a state and national membership association serving high school, college, and middle school students.
