Southern Illinois University Edwardsville worked with city and state officials to finish constructing the new 176 thousand square foot health science building. A "final pour" ceremony celebrated the last concrete pour on the $105 million addition to campus.
The new School of Pharmacy and Nursing building is part of Governor JB Pritzker's Rebuild Illinois initiative. The three-story building includes new classrooms, laboratories, and offices. Additionally, it added improved site circulation, two parking lots, and new sidewalks.
The Governor says, "Today's milestone in the completion of the new SIUE Health Sciences Complex reflects our commitment to building world-class learning environments. This state-of-the-art facility will provide aspiring health professionals with the tools and skills to succeed and lead in their field."
Governor Pritzker's Rebuild Illinois plan provides funding for infrastructure in the state, including universities, over six years.
