Documentary highlights Chuck Bowen's life in Chicago's Black political leadership

Southern Illinois University is hosting a free screening of the documentary Citizen Bowen at 5pm on Monday January 19th in the Southern Illinois African American Heritage Center located in the University Mall.

The film is about Chuck Bowen's life working in Black Political leadership in Chicago beginning in the late 1940's. Bowen will be present at the screening and will discuss the film and his life following the film.

The presentations are a collaborative effort from the Southern Illinois University System, SIU Carbondale, Columbia College Chicago, the NAACP Carbondale and NAACP Springfield Branches, the Southern Illinois African American Heritage Center and Wright Brothers Photoplay.
