An employee of the Williamson County State's Attorney's office is accused of breaking the law.
A news release from the state's attorney's office says Darien Daniel of Marion was arrested Tuesday night by the Southern Illinois Enforcement Group for delivery of marijuana.
Daniel resigned his grant-funded position Wednesday.
The news release said the Williamson County State's Attorney's office is shocked at Daniel's conduct and fully cooperated with the Southern Illinois Enforcement Group after learning of the incident.
The Hamilton County State's Attorney's office will serve as the special prosecutor in the case.
