Carbondale Man Sentenced for Robbing First Mid-Illinois Bank and Trust

A 36 year old Carbondale man has been sentenced to prison for Financial Institution Robbery.
On October 29, 2018, Darrell L. Hendricks went to the First Mid-Illinois Bank and Trust, provided bank employees with a note indicating he was robbing the bank and demanded money. A surveillance video captured the robbery. Carbondale Police quickly located Hendricks, recovered the money, and then Hendricks admitted to the robbery.

Jackson County State's Attorney Michael C. Carr says Hendricks pleaded guilty to the offense on November 13th and was sentenced to 20 years in prison with three years mandatory supervised release.
