A Jackson County Grand Jury handed down the indictment

A Jackson County Grand Jury has indicted the suspect in a fatal shooting last month on murder charges.

State's Attorney Joe Cervantez says 20-year old Daurice Morse of Cairo was indicted this week on two counts of First-Degree Murder in the death of Gary Jacob.

Investigators with the Carbondale Police Department say Jacob died after he was shot on West College Street in Carbondale on October 23rd.

Police are still searching for Morse. An arrest warrant was issued with a $2 million bond on it, and CPD says Morse should be considered armed and dangerous.
