Two people have been arrested after following a shooting incident early Sunday morning in Carbondale.

Police officers responded to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for two people arriving in a vehicle with non-life threatening gunshot wounds. There were multiple bullet holes in the vehicle the men arrived in.

The investigation revealed the men at the hospital were involved in a shooting incident with someone in another vehicle in the 1500 and 1600 blocks of East Main Street.

One of the injured men, 23-year-old Dejuon Baltimore of Champaign, was arrested for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon. The other occupant was treated by medical staff and released without charges.

Officers eventually found the other vehicle and stopped it Sunday afternoon on South Wall Street.

The occupant of the Jeep, 25-year-old Levar Woods of Carbondale, was uninjured but was found to be in possession of two firearms. He was arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
