Last week, the Looking for Lincoln series featured heavily illustrated guidebooks that invite readers to examine the life, times, and legacy of Abraham Lincoln while he was in central Illinois and the people, places, and forces in the region that shaped him and led him to the White House. The series is a collaboration between SIU Press and the Looking for Lincoln Heritage Coalition, which coordinates projects, programs, and events that focus on telling the unique stories of the Abraham Lincoln National Heritage Area, which encompasses more than forty counties in Illinois.
