Popular actor and SIU Carbondale graduate Bob Odenkirk is headed back to campus for a degree presentation and Q&A session at Shryock Auditorium.

Odenkirk’s latest TV series is entitled Lucky Hank, based on the book Straight Man by former SIU English professor Rick Russo.

WSIU’s Pete Peterson was chair of the English Department during Russo’s time in Carbondale and is quite familiar with Straight Man.

Brad Palmer talks with Pete about the book and what he’ll be tracking in the TV adaptation.

UPDATE: Advanced registration is no longer required for the Bob Odenkirk event on the SIU-C campus. Doors will open at 6 p.m. on April 3 at Banterra Center.

The event remains free and open to the public from 7-9 p.m. on April 3.
