The two republicans vying for the party nomination in the 12th congressional district are receiving endorsements they hope will be key for their campaigns.

The incumbent Mike Bost says House Speaker Mike Johnson has endorsed his re-election campaign. Johnson says Bost has proven to be an effective legislator and leading voice for veterans.

In addition to Speaker Johnson’s endorsement, Bost has also been endorsed by Congressman Jim Jordan of Ohio, Texas Congressman and former Trump White House Physician Ronny Jackson and National Right to Life.

This past weekend Bost's challenger, former Illinois state lawmaker and gubernatorial candidate Darren Bailey, received an endorsement from Illinois Congresswoman Mary Miller.

She said her support of Bailey is based on his leadership, his commitment to conservative values, and his strong support for President Donald Trump.
