Williamson Co. law enforcement agencies respond to a drowning report

Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the Carterville beach Tuesday afternoon after a of a man drowning.

At just after 3 p.m., the Williamson County Sheriff's Office, Carterville Police Department, Crainville Police Department, and John A Logan Police made their way to the location.

The Carterville Fire department deployed its boat and the man was rescued and transferred to the waiting EMS workers.

The victim was taken to an area hospital and is expected to recover.

The Williamson County Sheriff's Office and U.S. Fish and Wildlife are handling the investigation.
