Boating Accident Results in Fatality at Du Quoin Lake

Authorities are investigating a drowning on Du Quoin City Lake.

Du Quoin authorities confirm the incident happened Monday afternoon when a canoe with two people on board overturned about 1:30 pm.   Authorities report a man drowned.  The other person was taken to a local hospital. 

Authorities have not released the identities of the people involved.   The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is investigating.
