Flooding has resulted in several road closures across the southern Illinois region.
The Franklin County Emergency Management Agency says as of 11:00 AM Friday the following roads are closed until further notice because of flooding: Deering Road, Peach Orchard Road and Park Street Road along the Franklin/Perry County line.
Williamson County Emergency officials are warning all drivers to be cautious on county roads. Several roads have had their shoulders washed away and others have incurred a lot of flood damage.
Flash Flood Warnings remained in effect until about 7:00am across southern Illinois, southwestern Indiana, and western Kentucky.
Storm reports from the overnight severe weather include hail, high winds, funnel clouds, and a few possible tornadoes in southeast Missouri and southern Illinois.
In Evansville, Indiana, a new record was set for rainfall - nearly five inches fell on Thursday - shattering the old record of 2.86 inches.
Friday's forecast calls for cooler and drier conditions, which will likely continue through the weekend.
