Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner paid a visit to city and state leaders, teachers and students at Mount Vernon Township High School on Friday. While acknowledging that ". . .it's a tragedy that we don't have a budget in Illinois" Rauner says he wants to increase spending for K through 12 Education in the state. The Governor says that the money for the increased education spending is already in Springfield, and all lawmakers need to do is to re-structure several spending practices to free up the money.
