Overview
From award-winning writer Sally Wainwright and co-creator Diane Taylor comes Scott & Bailey, a thrilling British investigative drama exploring the personal and professional lives of two female detectives.
Detective Constables Rachel Bailey and Janet are both members of the Major Incident Team of the fictional Manchester Metropolitan Police. The two women are close friends with widely different personalities: single 30-something Bailey is brash and free-thinking, while Scott, a married mom in her 40s, is as subtle and diplomatic as Bailey is impulsive.

Scott & Bailey Episode Descriptions – Season 1
Episode 1 (July 11)
DCs Rachel Bailey and Janet Scott investigate the death of a young wife who is found dead in her home, with no evidence of a break-in. Rachel is dumped by her long-term boyfriend, Nick, then discovers that he is married with children. Lesley agrees to reopen an investigation into the abduction and murder of her old school friend.
Episode 2 (July 18)
Wife and mother Susan Metcalfe is brutally raped and left to bleed to death in her car. Rachel identifies a suspect during house-to-house investigations, which leads to another death and another charge. Having coerced Nick into buying her a flat, Rachel finds out that she is pregnant with his child. Janet is dreading her wedding anniversary party and presses on with the long cold murder case of her friend, Veronica Hastings.
Episode 3 (July 25)
Rachel's ex-lover, Nick, is the defending barrister for Georgios Stelikos, who is on trial for the rape and murder of drug addict Hannah Conway, and Rachel is horrified when he escapes conviction. A hung-over and bruised Hannah is brought in for questioning, but is she the killer?
Episode 4 (August 1)
The detectives arrest a woman on suspicion of the gruesome murder of her husband. Rachel and Janet investigate the couple's involvement in homemade pornography. DCI Gill Murray worries that Rachel's relationship with Nick might have endangered a case. Janet's affair with DS Andy Roper is uncovered.
Episode 5 (August 8)
Janet moves closer to tracking down Veronica's killer while investigating a recent murder that bears a number of similarities. Meanwhile, Rachel finds out about an affair Nick had with a juror in the middle of a trial – a revelation that could end his career – and inadvertently puts her friend in danger as Janet comes face to face with the killer.
Episode 6 (August 15)
The syndicate investigates the fatal shooting of a young boy. After a three month recovery, Janet returns to work and interviews the only witness to the murder. Rachel is almost hit by a car, and then uncovers a connection between the crash and Nick's affair with a juror. Rachel's career and Janet's marriage hang in the balance.
