Celebrate the season with Marion Carnegie Library! This Thursday from 5 to 7pm. There will be activities throughout the library, for everyone. Take photos with The Grinch and making custom bookmarks in the Children’s Department, decorate stockings in the Young Adult Department, create custom ornaments in the MCL Technology Lab, and make beeswax candles on the Main Floor for grown-ups. Plus, grab some popcorn and hot cocoa. This event is completely free and open to everyone. No registration is required, and you can drop in anytime between 5 and 7pm on Thursday night.
Glenn Poshard and author Carl Walworth will discuss their book, Son of Southern Illinois: Glenn Poshard’s Life in Politics, the book they created about Glenn Poshard’s life. Poshard and Walworth will be at Herrin City Library on Friday, December 15, 2023, at 2:00 pm. The event is presented by the Herrin History Room and is free and open to the public.
