ON THIS DAY in 1946 Christmas classic "It's a Wonderful Life" film, directed by Frank Capra, starring James Stewart, Donna Reed and Lionel Barrymore premieres in New York

In Carbondale, Bev Shofstall, Director of Free Again Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, will bring a few raptors that she has rehabilitated, but that can no longer survive in the wild. See “Birds of Prey in Southern Illinois” Thursday, January 11th, 7 pm at Carbondale Township Hall. This event will provide an opportunity for attendees to view these remarkable animals up close and learn about the value they provide to our environment. The event is sponsored by Shawnee Group Sierra Club. Park behind the building and enter through the back door.

 
The Southern 7 WOW van travels to high health-risk communities in the lower seven counties in Illinois. Upcoming WOW van clinics are planned for January 3rd at The Cairo Public Library and January 10th at The Rosiclare Dollar General and at The Vienna Senior Center on January 17th. Those events are from 10am to Noon and you can find more dates by visiting www.southern7.org
