This week in labor history,

2004 – A 20-week strike by 70,000 Southern California supermarket workers ends, with both sides claiming victory.


In the US, union construction workers earn 33.5% more than non-union workers.

Local 773’s Volunteer Organizing Committee is still collecting canned soup for Heaven’s Kitchen and the Fowler-Bonan Foundation. In Marion, compete in the inaugural Midwest Cornhole Clash sponsored by the Laborers Care Foundation. The event is expected to become the highlight of the Midwest's cornhole calendar. Players and sponsors are invited to join the fun at Mountain Dew Park on Saturday, April 27th. Teams and sponsors are filling up fast. Team Registration: 8:30 AM - 9:45 AM
